While working on Drawing out: Dobell Australian Drawing Biennial 2014, my colleagues and I visited the home and studio of Drawing out artist Tom Carment. Tom makes beautiful, humble drawings and paintings of urban Sydney. He sets out on his bike or on foot with a backpack of materials and sets up in unusual places. His drawings are intimate, delicate and familiar. To anyone who’s lived in urban Sydney they capture a million minor moments from daily life.
